died July 10, 2006. She had researched the Whatley family of Clarke
County Alabama for over 35 years. She kept close contact with

Marjorie Whatley was born to Lemuel A. Whatley and
Leila Augusta Parker May 15, 1929 in Desoto Missouri. Her father
fell ill and the family returned to Memphis, Tn. where he died Oct.
16, 1931 leaving a wife with 4 children all aged 6 or under. This
was the third marriage for her father who was born in Clarke Co.,
Al. to Franklin B. Whatley and Martha S. Allen. |

Many of the pieces of the puzzle remain unsolved
and it was her desire until the end to find who the father of
Franklin Benjamin Whatley was. Some say Walter R. Whatley
while others lean toward Willis Whatley, Jr.. |
