To the Honorable the Probate Judge of Barbour County Alabama.

                    The undersigned respectfully represent unto your honor that Thomas J. Glover late of Barbour County Alabama died on the 26th day of February 1863 and left no will.  That Rachel Glover the widow of said Thomas J. Glover and S. E. E. Glover nineteen years of age.   Shady A. F. Glover seventeen years of age and May L. Glover fourteen years of age the last forenamed the children of said Thomas J. are the heirs at law of said decedent.   That all above named parties reside within the city of Macon, Georgia that said decedent owned and possessed at the time of his death the following lands in Barbour County Alabama. To Wit The South East quarter (S. E. 1/4) of the South West quarter (SW 1/4) of section thirty one (31) Township twelve (12) Range Twenty nine (29).  The undersigned at the request and upon the application of said widow makes this application for letters of administration upon the estate of said decedent.  This 4th day of Feb.   1846

Know all men by these present that we S. H. Dent and James M Burford are held and firmly bound unto his honor H. C. Russell Judge of the Probate Court and his successors in office in the sum of one thousand dollars for the payment of which sum well and truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs Executors and administrators jointly and severely firmly by these present.  Sealed with our seals and dated this 4 Th day of Feb. 1976.  The conditions of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound S. H. Dent has been duly appointed administrator of the estate of Thomas J. Glover late said county deceased.  Now if the said S. H. Dent shall well and truly perform all the duties which are or may be by law required of him as such administrator so long as the duties which are or may be be by law required of him as such or discharges any of the duties thereof them the above obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force.

 

Daughter of Thomas J. Glover and Rachel Vining.  Thomas died in the WBTS 1863.  Thomas J. Glover was the son of Thomas W. Glover and Eleander Frederick

F. L. Brown

F. L. Brown, pioneer citizen of Macon died yesterday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at his residence.  52 Boundary street.

  Mr. Brown while at the advanced age of 74 years, had enjoyed the best of health and was active until a few days ago.  when he was stricken with the illness that caused is death.  Besides his wife three sons and one daughter survive.  They are Messrs. F. L. Brown, Jr. and T. E. Brown, of Macon; Dr. Leighton Brown of Atlanta and Mrs. John Bloodworth of Griswoldville.

   In the death of Mr. Brown the Southern railway lost one of its veteran trainmen.  For the past forty-nine years he had served the southern as machinist.  He was a member of Macon lodge No. 5 F. & A. M and also a chapter Mason being a member of Constantine chapter No. 4 R. A. M.   These lodges will attend the funeral services in a body and perform the last rites at the grave.  He was also a Confederate veteran, being a member of Camp R. A. Smith an the veterans will attend the funeral in body.

The funeral services will be held from the residence (Sunday) afternoon at 3 o'clock, Rev. T. F. Callaway pastor of the Tabernacle Baptist church, officiating.  Interment will be made in Rose Hill cemetery.

MRS. JENNIE E. BROWN

  Mrs. Jennie E. Brown,  aged seventy two years, died last midnight at the family residence, No. 526 Boundary street.  She had been a lifelong resident of Macon and was a member of the Primitive Baptist church.
     Mrs. Brown was the widow of the late F. L. Brown.  She is survived by three sons and one daughter, T. E. and F. I. Brown of Macon and Dr. L. I. Brown of Atlanta and Mrs. John Bloodworth of Gordon.
     Mrs. Brown also is survived by two sisters.  Mrs. W. W. Richards of Macon and Mrs. E. F. Wilkins of Jessup.
Funeral services will be held at 6 o'clock this (Thursday) after noon a the residence.  Interment in Rose Hill cemetery.

Jennie E. Brown was the daughter of Thomas J. Glover son of Thomas W. Glover and Eleander Frederick, grandson of John Glover and Sarah Paschal.  Thomas J. Glover died in 1863 serving for the cause in the WBTS.

DR. A. M. BROWN DIED AT JESUP EARLY TODAY

Dr. A. M. Brown died as this home in Jessup early this morning after a brief illness following an operation.  Dr. Brown was born and reared in South Macon, and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Brown, Sr. of this city.  He was known in Macon and his death will be deeply regretted by his many friends here.  The funeral arrangements eill be announced later.

F. L. Brown engineer for the Central of Georgia died at h is home 256 Boundary street, Saturday morning at 8:18 o'clock.  Mr. Brown has been in declining health two months.  He was 45 years of age and was born in this city.
     Surviving are his wife, four sons and one daughter, L. L. Brown of the United States Navy: C. M. Elisha, Paul and Lillian Brown, of this city; two brother and one sister, T. E. And Dr. L. I. Brown of Macon and Mrs. John B. Bloodworth of Gordon, Ga.  Mr. Brown was widely known in railroad circles having been with the road several years.

DEATHS AND FUNERALS BROWN

The body of Dr. A. M. Brown, who died at Jesup, Thursday morning reached Macon yesterday morning and was carried to the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Brown, 526 Boundary street, where the funeral services were held yesterday at 3:30 o'clock.  Rev. J. M. Bass officiating and the interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery.  The pall bears were selected from the Macon Lodge of Masons.
